Daintree Village is 90 minutes from Cairns, 45 minutes North of Port Douglas, 30 minutes North of Mossman, 15 minutes to the beach, 45 minutes to Cape Tribulation and surrounded by the Daintree Rainforest National Park.

The Daintree hosts some of the most unique rainforest in the World. Arguably the oldest rainforest in the World. In fact 10 times older than the Amazon. The Daintree rainforest is home to an amazing diversity of flora & fauna. Some plant and animal species have been here for over 100 million years. The Daintree River flows at the base of the magnificent Thornton’s Peak where you will find the oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests on earth.

The Daintree region is one of Australia’s premier wildlife locations, and in particular bird life. The Daintree Village is internationally recognised as a premier bird watching and wildlife location. There are excellent specialized bird watching tours departing the Daintree Village daily and crocodile spotting & wildlife river cruises departing hourly.

Daintree Tea House Restaurant
Rainforest dining at it’s very best. The longest-established restaurant in the Daintree area. Open for lunch all day, 7 days per week. Dinner by reservation.

Ellenor’s Place
Affordable quality meals. "Relax and enjoy the difference" on our outdoor veranda, where you can sit back and admire the beauty and serenity of the surrounding countryside. All our meals are prepared from the freshest ingredients for your dining pleasure.

Papaya Cafe
Small but comprehensive menu offering anything from a simple, home baked Aussie beef pie or fish and chips to contempory Australian Pacific cuisine with an Asian influence. Try crocodile wontons, sugar cane prawns or Barramundi steamed with green ginger and eschalots. Licensed Bar. Air conditioned in summer. Reservations appreciated though not essential.
